International Women’s day, a day to celebrate social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women around the world. But it’s also a day that highlights the inequality for women in all types of businesses. The FinTech industry is no exception.
According to Findec (Sweden’s Hub for Fintechs), out of Sweden’s around 400 fintech companies only approximately 5% have a female founder. Unfortunately, the number is pretty much the same across the globe.
In 25 of the hottest FinTech companies in Sweden, together worth more than 100 billion SEK , women own only 0.8 % of the total value.
